Alpagro was founded in 1979 as a sister company of ‘Alpagro Papier’. Originally, the company was named ‘Alpagro Plastics’ because of its emphasis on plastic bag production. Today, we offer an extensive range of packaging in various material types.

Flexible packaging
for each sector

While we initially focused on plastic bags and carrier bags for the retail sector, the attention shifted to flexible packaging for the fruit and vegetable sector later on. A segment that we are still very active and adept in to this day.

Our current product range includes high-quality carrier bags, fruit and vegetable packaging, shipping and industrial packaging. All our packaging is produced locally, at our factory in Houthalen (BE), and is always made to measure for your specific product. The entire production process is carried out in-house, which fosters flexibility both in terms of delivery times and product optimisation.

Sustainable packaging solutions

Over the years, what had once started with packaging made mostly of fossil raw materials, grew into a wider range of packagings with alternatives made of renewable raw materials. This growth resulted in a name change to Alpagro Packaging in 2018.

Since our inception, we have been trying to minimise the environmental impact of our products and have been pushing hard for sustainability. For example, we offer a choice between different types of plastic, ranging from conventional polyethylene, recycled plastic, plastic made of renewable resources and finally 100% compostable material. Did you know that we were the first Belgian manufacturer to launch fully compostable carrier bags?

Family-run company with a strong vision

Alpagro Packaging was founded by André Vincke and Ilse Thys and is currently managed by their son, Laurenz Vincke. As a family business, we attach great importance to continuity, sustainability and service. Together with some 30 employees, we strive for quality every day.

We continue to innovate, modernise and optimise our existing products. With more than 45 years of experience and expertise, we are now an established player in the industry with the intention to continue to grow as a packaging specialist. Bringing your brand to life with high-quality and sustainable packaging remains our greatest motivation!
